Exploring Opportunities: Studying in Taiwan
大家好. My name is Le Thi Phuong Thao (黎氏芳草), and I am from Vietnam. Before coming to Taiwan, I worked in Vietnam, but I wanted to improve myself academically and professionally. This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Semiconductor Technology at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU).
I chose this major because I believe in the future of semiconductors, which are central to technological innovation. Studying at NYCU has given me a solid foundation in this field. One great advantage of studying here is that the Institute of Computer Science and Technology (ICST) is an international department where we use English for both studies and communication. This helps students like me who don’t speak Chinese focus on their studies.
NYCU also offers excellent internship opportunities. Last summer, I interned at Micron Technology, where I applied my classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. This experience greatly enhanced my understanding of semiconductor processes.
Throughout my time here, my professor has been very supportive, providing valuable guidance that has helped me navigate my academic journey. While English is the main language in my department, I am also learning Mandarin to better interact with local people and enrich my experience in Taiwan.
Overall, studying in Taiwan has been a rewarding experience. It has allowed me to grow academically and personally, and I am excited about the future opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
希望你今天过得愉快!
